That's the only thing I can think of as to why it works on his and not on yours. Did you install your Windows 8.1 driver in? Well, my pc is not even detecting a USB input so no any driver is capable to install for this adapter. And yes my friend has the earliest build of Windows 10 so maybe that's a reason for working adapter.
When you say it does not detect USB input, do you mean it does not detect any device like a flash drive? If this is a laptop check out one of the Nano adapters for Windows 10. Actually, I was looking for an adapter that has penetration testing power and Tl-wn722n V1 is one of the top 3 powerful adapters. So that's why I'm looking to resolve its problems otherwise I already have some normal wifi adapters.
